Somewhere my urls are being mapped to localhost which then fails. Incidentally if set up an alias within my etc/host file, mapping '127.0.0.1' to '.nz' and then test a mysql connection with host set to '.nz' it also fails with the same error '"Access denied for user (using password: NO)". Unfortunately my spring application configured with a mysql dataSource url = 'jdbc:mysql://127.0.0.1:3306/mydb' or 'jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/mydb', both fail with the same mysql error "Access denied for user (using password: NO)" But with host set to '127.0.0.1' it works! When testing a connection to MySql within MySQL Workbench, it fails with "Access denied for user (using password: NO)", where I've explicitly set host to 'localhost'. ![]() Unfortunately this seems to be a common topic - but i havnt seen a relevant ans.
